About me: Info and Disclaimer
Hello and welcome!
Thank you for visiting my blog. The purpose of this blog is to share my personal experiences of transitioning from struggling to figure out how am I supposed to avoid gluten (that seems to be hiding almost everywhere) to living a balanced life while being gluten-free. While I'm going to talk about food a lot, I am also planning to discuss my skincare story, dealing with join pain, and other fun things that come with being celiac.
I've been diagnosed over 5 years ago, but I remember being overwhelmed and frustrated all too well; my life's a little bit easier now, but it's still a learning experience. Back then I had so many questions, and more often than not I found answers scattered all over blogosphere instead of my regular medical sources. What many people don't realize is that being a celiac is a lifestyle, not just a diet. Traveling, going out, cooking, shopping for food and many other things are quite different now; I had to adjust my skincare, to make sure my medications are gluten free. Those were big changes, and that's what I'd like to talk in this blog, so hopefully someone might learn from both my mistakes and my lucky finds. I know that many people with autoimmune diseases (including celiacs) have various skin issues, and I'm one of them; I used to have rosacea, but it's mostly under control now. I am going to mention products and ingredients that worked for me and the ones I had to learn to avoid.
All opinions on this blog are my own; and while I'd like to make my own experiences useful to you, please remember - YMMV. Autoimmune diseases vary considerably between patients, and what works for me might not work for you. My allergy/sensitivity profile: I've multiple allergies that are most probably related to me being gluten intolerant. I'm allergic to buckwheat, oats, honey and bee products; I've various skin allergies, and overall my skin is still very sensitive and reactive.
